Palmbomen at Red Bull Music Academy

Next friday Palmbomen, Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990 and Full Crate will give a workshop for the Red Bull Music Academy at the MC Theater in Amsterdam. This gives fans a unique opportunity to get a glimpse of the creative processes behind the production of a track. There will be no admission fee.

The Red Bull Music Academy is a great way for aspiring musicians to learn from like-minded artists that might use entirely different creative processes. This has proven to be a stepping stone for Palmbomen himself, since he took part in the project last year. He is always one to give back, so this year he will be on the other side of the classroom.

We are all still recovering from a heavy night of partying last saturday in Rotterdam. In fact, we had so much fun that HyperHyper played until well past 6:00 o’clock, instead of 5:00 o’clock. This made for an encore that was longer than the initial set. As you can see in the picture below (taken at 6:00) the people in Rotterdam were glad to stick around. Neighbors of Perron, thanks a lot for not calling the police.

Next saturday we’ll try to repeat this feat in Paradiso Amsterdam. It shouldn’t be a problem, since parties with Paranoia usually guarantee mayhem. Come see for yourself.

Spring full of NON Nights

We are done with this winter! Possibly because of the cold, probably because we have confirmed a whole lot of NON Nights across the Netherlands in March and April. They are all special in their own way, so read along:

First up is the second NON Night in Perron Rotterdam on March 10th. Coincidentally, that night is Museumnacht in Rotterdam, so one might call it an arty farty afterparty.

A week after that – on March 17th – we will be visiting good old Amsterdam for a NON Night at Paradiso. In fact, we were invited by Paranoia to join them on one of their bizarre party experiences.

Another week later we’ll invade Simplon Groningen for the first time. Simplon is quickly gaining infamy within the dance community and we want a piece of that action. We surely expect our fans in the North of our fair country to circle March 23rd in their calendars.

Then on Friday the 13th of April we are going to tempt fate by hosting our first NON Night in Merleyn Nijmegen. Luckily we are not superstitious. Nothing can go wrong as long as there’s dancing involved.

Following that, we shall descend upon 013 Tilburg on April 20th. We’ve had some wonderful experiences at LOOS and New Year’s Eve, so we decided to bring almost our entire crew and show the South how we get things done on a NON Night.

Lastly – for now – we’ll celebrate the Queen’s Night in her own home town of The Hague. On April 29th, ‘t Paard van Troje will be the smart choice for partygoers.

NON Area at F/S/A/R/

NON Records is slowly getting ready for global domination in 2012 and we couldn’t imagine a better place to start with than our neighbours to the South. On februari 18th we will host an area at F/S/A/R/ (Flying Saucers Are Real) in Petrol, Antwerp.

Our own area will showcase a NON Night, featuring HyperHyper, Bear Damen, Palmbomen and Marius. They will all be playing DJ-sets and they won’t take any prisoners.

Headliner in the other room will be Andrew Weatherall of Warp fame. The UK dance legend shall be joined by Chubbee Bee, W.A.V., Room & Luc Tuymans (live), From A to Z and Louis Katorz.

So if you happen to live in Belgium, or fly a saucer, come join us on a kosmik excursion on the version. Don’t fear, we come in peace.

NON Artists featured in In Flagranti mixes

We are proud to have noticed that our good friends of In Flagranti have featured us in their two latest mixes. Especially Bear Damen received major support, appearing in both of them.

The first mix – dating back to december 7th – contains the Bear Damen remix of TWR72′s Schizophrenia.

The second mix is especially NON-heavy, since is features both the Bear Damen remix of our own THE BENELUX track Pet Needs Friends and the Renkas remix of Interdisciplinary. The latter track is in fact a sneak preview of an In Flagranti track that will be released later this spring.

So dust of those dancing shoes and click on any of the two mixes below. You can’t go wrong either way.
